To ensure that the historic Julia Morgan House is the right venue for you, it is important for you to be aware of certain policies and procedures designed to preserve the integrity of the house and gardens and the neighborhood nearby. The policies and procedures listed here, along with others, will be provided to you in greater detail when you are ready to book your event.
- Catering: Epicure Catering at Sacramento State is the exclusive caterer for the Julia Morgan House.
- Parking: Parking options include a 23-space parking lot behind the house. Valet parking, for an additional charge, is required for an event with more than 25 attendees. Street parking is permitted after 6:00 p.m. but discouraged as a courtesy to neighbors.
- Alcohol: Alcohol can be provided and must be served by the Epicure Catering staff, which is fully licensed to offer bar services. Last call for alcoholic beverages is a half hour before the scheduled end of the event followed by the last alcoholic beverage service 15 minutes before the scheduled event conclusion.
- Amplified Music: You are welcome to have amplified music inside the house; however, it is not permitted outside on the patio or gardens. Amplified outdoor presentations require prior approval by the Julia Morgan House team.
- Lighting, Heating, Air Conditioning: These systems will be regulated by the Julia Morgan House team as well as any other systems used for the environmental control of the facility.
- Smoking: Smoking is not permitted inside or outside the house or on the property grounds.
- Pets: Pets are not permitted on the grounds with the exception of service animals.
- Personal Articles: Any personal items brought to the Julia Morgan House are the responsibility of the owner and must be removed immediately after the event.
- Certificate of Insurance: You must have evidence of general liability coverage in the form of a Certificate of Insurance obtained either from your business insurance provider, or by providing a Tenants’ and Users’ Liability Insurance Policy (TULIP), available for a nominal charge from UEI.
- Security Deposit: A deposit is required to cover any spills or accidents that may pose a potential hazard or lasting damage to the facility (stains on carpet and furniture, etc.). The Julia Morgan House team is responsible for repairs; however charges may be deducted from your security deposit.
- Final Condition of the House and Gardens: Following an event, you are responsible for the final condition of the house and gardens, including removal of decor, trash, and debris, and ensuring the house and gardens are neat and clean. All personal items must be removed by the end of the event.
- Event Conclusion: In consideration of the neighbors, evening events must conclude by 10:00 p.m.
